4.29.99: Big News today: i hear that taye diggs is featured in People magazine's 50
Most Beautiful
People issue (as if we had any doubt). ew.com is reporting that jesse martin will replace benjamin bratt
on law & order, starting next season. as if i have time to watch any more shows! sheesh, the perils of success.
lastly, there will be Rent open call auditions in boston on May 5. see the official site for more info.
4.28.99: our friend anthony rapp has been busy this week running workshops for high
school performers in highland park, illinois. my sources there say that the kids loved ant and thought he was a
wonderful teacher. hm, one of the few reasons to wish i was in high school again...
4.27.99: well, i just watched my tape of the xFiles, and i'm not sure what to think of it, except that the last
scene (with M&S hitting pitches into the sky) was about the most sentimental thing going. but jesse was very good,
even if he couldn't decide on an accent. and they even let him sing a bit! heavens be praised. i have it on good
authority (thank you tv gal) that he will be back on
ally mcbeal before the season is over, so get ready.
supposedly the law and order episode featuring OBC'er fredi walker will rerun tonite
(friday 4.23) on NBC. also, don't forget the XFiles with jesse on sunday!
extra extra: our very own rising star jesse martin will appear
on an all new X-Files episode next Sunday, April 25. yippee! jesse fix.
file under weirdest rumor in a while: ken mandelbaum reports on
intheater that: "Rumored once again
as a possibility for the Emcee in
Broadway's "Cabaret" is Anthony
Rapp, although his current role in
"Charlie Brown" would seem to
preclude his succeeding Alan
Cumming in June." what do you think about that, sports fans?
idina menzel is reportedly going to appear in spike lee's new movie, which i think is due this summer.
is that definite enough for you?

neighborhood. (thanks k sea!)
look, an actual update! went to a sneak preview of GO tonite, and i just want to use
this forum to say that our friend taye is simply delicious. he looks great in the movie
and is very funny and mesmerizing on the screen. the movie itself was really good, kind of a teenage Pulp Fiction.
see it just to hear Taye talk extensively about tantric sex. you won't be sorry.
interesting anthony news: what's apparently his latest
project.
also, check out the official site. for the record, anthony does not
appear to be leaving YAGMCB any time soon. the joe! event is a one-nighter at the moment.
slc punk official site. slick site, and it really
looks like a great movie. watch some of the clips. there's one where you can actually see adam

still more ally mcbeal episodes. i am very happy that jesse's part is becoming so well developed on that show, and
i
hope it leads to ever bigger and better things for him, but that show drives me crazy!!! sorry, just had to
vent there for a moment.

carrie hamilton, carol burnett's daughter and the original Angel company Maureen, will
be on this week's X-Files episode, on 2.28. she was a pretty darn good maureen, although she was only with the
Angel co. for a short time.
idina menzel will have a track (a new version of 'follow if you lead') on the
soundtrack of the movie The Other Sister, to be released by Hollywood Records. she's in good company; this disc
includes tracks from The Pretenders, Joan Osborne, the Lemonheads and Paula Cole.
norbert leo butz, who recently left the role of roger on broadway, will soon be
appearing as the Emcee in the first national tour of Cabaret (does anyone else have trouble picturing him in this

Theatre in L.A., opening 2.23. here

they just weren't sure?), and the incomparable krysten cummings was nominated as best actress in a musical. awards

everyone's favorite drama queen daphne rubin-vega was awarded "best breakout performance by a Latina"

the letter ("Frankly, Ally...") i wrote that Entertainment Weekly printed a few weeks ago.
A fraction of my
fifteen minutes. I think the trick to getting printed is to suck up.
AND Ches at Simply Jesse is reporting that
Jesse Martin will appear on new episodes of (ugh) Ally McBeal this season, starting with episode
